- What is a Helmsman Auction?
Helmsman Auctions are a type of auction that automatically extends past their set
close date if there are still bids being placed near to the close time. This allows
you to place bids on other lots if you are outbid on your preferred lot.
- How do I register?
Request your Bidder Number by filling in the registration form on the home page.
You are required to be a PGG Wrightson account holder in good credit to register.
You will be able to sign in immediately, but require approval to be able to bid.
- I've registered, what's next?
Your account is checked by our credit team on the day of the sale. If your account
is in good standing you will be emailed or texted (if you have provided your mobile
phone number) your bidder number.
- How do I place a bid?
Click on the "Place Bid" button of the lot you want to bid on, either from the list
of Lots (Bottom Right) or whilst viewing the Lots details (Top Right). You must
be signed in to place a bid. Enter the amount you wish to bid and click the "Place
Bid" button. The amount is set to the default minimum next bid.
- What is an auto-bid?
An auto-bid sets an amount that you are willing to bid up to. Anybody else who bids
on this lot will be automatically outbid by you, until the bidding exceeds your
set auto-bid amount. To place an auto-bid check the checkbox below your desired
auto-bid amount and click "Place Bid". You can cancel your auto-bid at any time
by clicking on the "Withdraw auto-bid" link. You can also outbid your own auto-bid
to raise the bidding to any value you wish.
